Woman Causes Over $500,000 in Damages After Keying Over 400 Vehicles at Car Dealerships
A pair of Canadian car dealerships in British Columbia are investigating an incident where an unknown woman was spotted on security cameras keying many vehicles on their lot. In a report by USA TODAY, authorities believe this same woman has vandalized over 400 vehicles at multiple dealerships over the course of four months, resulting in over $500,000 in damages.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police has received reports of “mass car keying incidents” since January 2023 and are on the search for the individual responsible. Both the Journey Chrysler Jeep Dodge and Ram dealership and the Journey Approved dealership were both victims of having their inventory keyed by this woman, and are less than a mile from each other.
“It is clear in the videos that the suspect was deliberately scratching the vehicles one-by-one,” says Coquitlam RCMP Corporal Alexa Hodgins in a press release. “Our investigators are continuing to follow up on any investigational leads, but are requesting the assistance from the public in identifying the suspect.”
Why Are These Car Dealerships Being Targeted?
As seen in the security footage, the woman is wearing a beanie, glasses, gloves, and a surgical mask to hide her identity as she scratches away at each car on the dealership lot, one by one. Police believe the suspect is a white female aged between 40 and 50 years old with shoulder-length blonde hair. Police believe the suspect drives a 2008-2013 Ford Escape.
The woman’s motivations behind the crimes are believed to be personal as the car dealerships she has targeted have the same owners. It is unknown whether she is a disgruntled customer, an employee at a rival dealership, or even worse… she’s a Karen.
